Banana Pudding Rice Krispies Treats

I’ve been making these Banana Pudding Rice Krispies Treats for years, and they’re always a hit! They have a fun twist on the classic Rice Krispies treat, with a delicious banana pudding layer that makes them extra special. These treats look like something fancy, but they’re super easy to make at home.

Ingredients:

For the Rice Krispies layer:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 packet (10 ounces) small marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

For the banana pudding layer:

  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant banana pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup sliced bananas (optional topping)

To serve:

  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions:

Make the Rice Krispies layer (5 minutes):

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
  2. Add the marshmallows to the melted butter and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the Rice Krispies cereal. Mix well until the cereal is fully coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Press the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Use a spatula or wax paper to evenly spread and press the mixture down.
  5. Let the Rice Krispie layer cool and harden completely at room temperature.

Make the banana pudding layer (3 minutes):

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the instant banana pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until it thickens.
  2. Gently fold in the sliced bananas.

Assemble and chill (2 hours):

  1. Once the Rice Krispies layer has cooled and hardened, evenly spread the banana pudding mixture over the top.
  2. Cover the baking dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until the pudding layer has set. For the best results, chill for 2 hours.
  3. After the pudding layer has set, cut the Banana Pudding Rice Krispies Treats into squares.

Serve: For an extra touch, you can top each square with a little whipped cream before serving.
