I’ve been making these Banana Pudding Rice Krispies Treats for years, and they’re always a hit! They have a fun twist on the classic Rice Krispies treat, with a delicious banana pudding layer that makes them extra special. These treats look like something fancy, but they’re super easy to make at home.
Ingredients:
For the Rice Krispies layer:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 packet (10 ounces) small marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
For the banana pudding layer:
- 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant banana pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1 cup sliced bananas (optional topping)
To serve:
- Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions:
Make the Rice Krispies layer (5 minutes):
- In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the marshmallows to the melted butter and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the Rice Krispies cereal. Mix well until the cereal is fully coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Press the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Use a spatula or wax paper to evenly spread and press the mixture down.
- Let the Rice Krispie layer cool and harden completely at room temperature.
Make the banana pudding layer (3 minutes):
- In a bowl, whisk together the instant banana pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until it thickens.
- Gently fold in the sliced bananas.
Assemble and chill (2 hours):
- Once the Rice Krispies layer has cooled and hardened, evenly spread the banana pudding mixture over the top.
- Cover the baking dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until the pudding layer has set. For the best results, chill for 2 hours.
- After the pudding layer has set, cut the Banana Pudding Rice Krispies Treats into squares.
Serve: For an extra touch, you can top each square with a little whipped cream before serving.
